MERLIN is the MEchatronics and Robotics Laboratory for
INnovation at the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione (DEI) of Politecnico
di Milano. It is formed by a group of people committed to research, innovation and
technology transfer in the fields of mechatronics, robotics and motion control.
The laboratory supports the research activities in these fields and teaching in several
courses at Politecnico di Milano, offered in different undergraduate and graduate programs
(in Automation, Computer Science, Electronic, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering).
The group was established in 1992 by Professor Claudio Maffezzoni
and since then has grown both in international scientific visibility and as a reference
point for the regional industrial activities. Today its members serve in the editorial board
of the most renowned international journals of the field and organize the most widely
attended congress on motion control in Italy.
